Need cam for 383

I`m building a 383 and I don`t know what cam would be a good choice? I was thinking the XR 280R, but heres my engine

350 4bolt .030"/ Zero decked
Scat cast steel 3.75" crank
Scat forged I beam 5.7" rods
KB hyper pistons, flat tops with valve relifes
10-10.5:1, (shop said this would be the CR with my heads)
Compcams Solid roller lifters
Internally balanced

Cast iron 2.02 Bowtie heads 64cc/ minor bowl work
Edelbrock Bowtie Victor jr/ this intake was made for the bowtie heads
1.52 Compcams pro magnum roller rockers
BG 750 ms, df, dp

I want mid to high RPM power and a I want the aggeressive sound a big cam makes, my goal is 450-500hp and a 6500-7500 redline somewhere in there and it needs to run on ultra 94 I don`t want to have to buy race fuel for it, drivablity doesn`t matter too much as long as it stays running at stop lights lol and I`d like the power to come in around 3500rpm and I`ll be using a T-56 6 spd if it matters with 3:73 or 4:11`s and I`ll be running 1 3/4 hooker super comps with Dual exshust running though Flowmasters. What Compcam do you recommed? and am I asking too much of this engine to do what I want? thanx for your help, I`ll be running the 383 next summer and I want a cam that`ll make the most of what I have, I do plan on upgrading to AFR 210`s but that`ll be 2-3 years.

The XR280R won't rev as high as you want, IMHO. The 286R would be a better choice as long as you truly don't care much about low speed performance or manners.

Re: Need cam for 383

Your new cam specs are 230/236 - 110 lobe sep, 108 intake centerline (2 deg. advanced). Lift with 1.6/1.5 rockers is .622 / .570". Should make great power and still maintain decent driveability.

This is with a HSR and AFR 190 heads that are untouched.

Made about 411 HP at the wheels

The xe242 or 248 @ .050 duration and 110 lsa will pull from 3500 till 7000. Mine doesn't wake up until about 3000, but pulls like a mother after that. You might need a vacuum canister also.
