Need Better Brakes
My stock brakes just aren't quiet good enough any more. I keep over heating them. How can I upgrade them? I've heard of transplanting some 1LE brakes, and I'm not sure if Wilwood or somebody make some aftermarket brakes.

how are you over heating them????
unless your on a road course your brakes should be more than enough if they are in good shape.
my 350 came with 4 wheel disc, i forgot if any 305's had this other than 1-le.
i replaced my rotors with cross-drilled and slotted from gm and they made a little difference in cooling and braking.......but it was minor. also replaced my front calipers....but one was locked up, made it easier to do both.
i replaced my pads with the best ones available for my calipers from gm....(carbon metallic something) and they worked excellent.
i replaced all my junk and worn rubber hoses with a braided kit from earl's as well as flushed the old fluid and replaced it with synthetic and it made a even better difference.
i've driven 1-le's, newer 4thgen setups, and even a baer setup........unless your on a road course my setup works perfect for the streets and won't cost you 3,000.
i wouldn't waste my time with 1-le for anything other than looks but, if i had to go aftermarket i would definately go with a baer type setup.
good luck

Like kevin said u can spend a fat wad on brakes. Ive been looking at the bear brakes also. You can get a nice disc and pad setup for 150 from sdpc. Next gen sells the same kit for 250. They work with the stock calapers.

I've been overheating them when going about 110 to 25mph back to back around town. Do you think the rear drum brakes are a big weakness. I was think of changing out the whole rear diffrental form a fourth gen anyway. Thank for the help
