n e one have a clue?
Well I replaced a rod about 2 months ago along with a new rocker arm and stud. Now it messed up another arm on the drivers side(same one as the last one)and I have now replaced it again. Now it backfires and runs poor still. Pulled off the valve cover from the passenger side and I got a lot of play with the arms. I ran out of daylight so I could not tell if the rods were bent. I am going to do a compression test tonight and see whats up. Any ideas on whats going on here? I am getting very very mad now. Quote Paul.

make sure to tighten the down the rockers properly you have to rotate the crank to get them all but the way to do rockers is with the crank in the proper position tighten down the stund to zero lash (no play) and than do one more quarter turn.

chiltons is one of the best how to book companies out there
you should be able to pick one up for the camaro at nappa but a bookstore can order it
just dont get a haines they blow donkey nuts
i just want to be clear because i dont want to see you mess but dont use a torque wrench on the rockers just a normal ratchet my friend and i were rebuilding his iroc with the L69 motor and for some reason we thought that they needed to be torwued down to some value but that is not the case and we ended upo bending all his push rods.
