My odometer is out of control! How do i fix this?!?

My odometer is out of control! How do i fix this?!?
ok, i took my car out (83 berlinetta LG4) for a morning drive, and realized, my odometer and tripometer were climbing 10 points for every 1 mile! what the hell happened? can this be fixed?

If it is cable drive, maybe a bad odometer or if it has a VSS then maybe bad VSS?

well...i also have a bad speedo cable i need to replace, could that be a reason?

it could be the cable but check the piece on the tranny the cable goes to the gears in it can screw up check that and have a merry christmas
