My Intake Project with pictures

I hated the constricting stock airbox so I got an open air cone filter for $25 (I needed a new air filter anyway) and installed it. I had to move a sensor which was a pain, but everything looks good, runs good, and sounds good. I imagine my car will run cooler now, but I feel a slight better acceleration and it looks cool, so I am happy.
Here is before and after.

So what else can I do for more power (not like this made much of a difference).

Replace the origami looking contraption between the throttle body and your air filter. That'll make 2x as much of a difference than the air filter did. I could even feel an improvement on my 2.8 firebird when I replaced it with some dryer hose. If you want it to look good, just get the piece out of an 88+ TPI firebird, or out of a 91-ish 3.1 camaro.

But there are two wiring harnesses coming off of that thing. I imagine there are sensors in there. What do I do about that?

Get something like this,
My old SLP Dual CAI when I had TPI

The new 4" SuperFlow CAI on my LT1,

You'll need to convert to Speed Density for either one.
Battery needs to be relocated for the Dua CAI.

That airbox shouldn't have ANY sensors near it. The only sensor in that air path is the Mass Airflow sensor, which will work with the 88-89 style air ducting too.

I can get close up pics, there are sensors everywhere! I had to move the one that was on the existing air box. Then at the corner of the black box-like pipe there are harnesses and such. I will look at it closer tomorrow morning and let you guys know.

So that black box is a resonator I was told. Where can I get a straight pipe to replace it? I want it to look good.
