I really don't like how the electric choke on my Holley Street Avenger works.
It revs like 2000RPM on start. Drops to like 1750 when I kick fast-idle down. I can normally get it to kick down 2 more times over the next 3 minutes. However it will not kick down past 900RPM. However once I put the car in gear, drive a while, when I put it in park it idles 750. 5 minutes is more then enough time for the choke to completely kick down IMHO....and it just won't do it. I'm seriously thinking about switching to mechanical choke...so I can control it myself.

try adjusting ur curb idle speed to about 650 or so when its warm. thats what i have my car set at (similar to urs, check sig.). my car idles about 600-650 in gear warm and 700-800 in park.
not sure about the choke prob. b/c ive got an Edelbrock...but it has electric choke as well. maybe check the ground? did u buy the carb. new or used?
