Is my car really a Z?

I checked out the VIN: 1G1FP23F9ML124511

Says LB9 for the engine, which is the 5.0 TPI if I'm not mistaken...which only came in the Z-28s in 1991 and 1992, right?

But my car has manual windows and locks, drum brakes in the rear, hardtop (sunroof, which may or may not be aftermarket, I don't know).

It does, however, have posi, fog-lights, and the Z-28 grid tail-lights...but I think all the 91's and 92's had those...It's also got the hood blisters. All the emblems say Z-28, but why am I missing so many options? Did I find a poor-man's Z28? Did they even make these, or did a previous owner REMOVE options from the car? There's no trace of power window wiring or anything like it...

Just curious I guess...

Z28 options

I had a 1991 z28 with the 5.7 and a drum brake rear.In that year the factory was having a problem keeping up on production of the rear disc set up. The owner was notified and had the option to accept the drum brakes with a credit of about $220 or wait longer on the delivery for the disc.I bought this car used pretty cheap so I didn't care.

Thanks Dirt

Wow, six records on my car...that's a lot I would think...I know it's been hit in the front end, the fenders are replaced...and the door lines to the front quarters don't quite line up perfect.

I'm still happy to know that it's really a Z...because all my friends give me the business about having a clone. Now I will silence them with my big stick.

I'm not sure how back the codes are accurate, but I know 91-92 atleast you can tell if its a Z by the Vin. If it is an F it has a 305tpi (unique to the z28), if its an 8 it is a 350 tpi (unique to the Z), and E is 305tbi (unique to the RS), and I forget what the 6cyl one is, so in 91-92 if its no 8 or F it isn't a Z. I guess in 90 you have the Iroc so those are the only 2 years it works, for determining what it is.

I ran a complete carfax for you and the 6 records are only registration records. It doesn't show anything as far as accidents. If you want, I can email you the report that I now have of your car
