Motor swap question
Ok so my 305tpi is blown. I found a really good deal on a 454 carburated. What will I need to successfully and painlessly do this motor swap? And will a 454 bolt up to a 700r4 tranny? Thanks in advance!

Re: Motor swap question
Yes, the trans should be able to bolt up to a 454, as the bolt patterns are the same. Couple things to look for tho. The 454 is externally balanced, so be sure to use the 454 flexplate (that should have the balances weights on it). Also you want to be sure the converters bolt pattern will line up with the same bolt pattern as the flexplate.
Fair warning, depending on how built the 454 is, theres no way to guarentee that transmission will hold up to the 454. As long as the 454 is completely stock, it should last a while. If you build it up at all, may want to look into building up the trans or purchasing another one.
Otherwise it should bold right onto the 454.
