Can someone decode this vin and tell me which motor this thing has? It is a 92 Z28 which supposedly had a 5.7, but has ttops in the picture so I think they might be pulling my leg.

T-Tops were uncommon with the 350, but there are some around.

yea I've seen ttops in some 88, and 89 IROC 350's, but never in a 91/92 5.7 Z28. I did see a 92 with tops years ago, but it was an aftermarket set that were very poorly constructed. Thanks for the help guys!

 

the 8th digit of the vin is the engine code.

In this case, the 8th digit is coincidentally an 8.

vin code 8 is a 5.7L TPI.

 

VIN says 350.
The firebird had the 350/t-top combo in 91-92, although rare.
The camaro option many will claim never existed. Check it out in person. There's always the chance another company added the tops if its legit.
Either way it's rare and a nice find.
