missfiring and dying on cold start
missfiring and dying on cold start
i have a 1988 formula 350, when i got to start it, it starts right up, but quickly dies out forcing me to give it some gas, which revs the engine up but it will die, and then jump back up in the rpms, it will do this several times until about 30 seconds later the car i suppose warms up and will idle fine at 600rpms, anyone have ideas on what may be causing a rough cold start? thanks
Re: missfiring and dying on cold start
problem solved, either fuel return line is clogged, or charcoal canister is clogged- prevents venting of gas tank fums, which inturn adds exxesive pressure to the tank forcing gas into the engine, and flooding it out before it has time to warm up. for now you have to release the pressure by opening the tank, soon ill fix the charcoal canister.
