Of course all engines are different depending on how much care was taken (oil changes, replacement parts)...what kind of engine does it have (LC1,LG4,L69) I assume it's not the :gulp: LQ9

I've seen the LG4 at 210K miles if it means anything to you...that's not bad

Edit: BTW, the LG4 came in the Sports Coupe, Berlinetta and Z28

Don't get the accord!!

There isn't really an "average." In 1984, they offered the 6-cylinder, 305 V8 and I think that was one of the 4-cylinder years. Anything that's taken care of will last probably up to 200k if not more. Good luck with getting an f-body!

Yup. 200K seems to be a good average for well taken care of 3rd gens...the LQ9 was the 4 banger (92 HP )

Go with the Camaro, may require some work but you won't regret it trust me

If you get a 84, find a 85-92 Z28 front bumper cover and gfx cuz those 82-84 are bleh :/

I like 3rd gens because you can get a really nice one for cheap and they are really easy to work on. Ive been able to learn how to do alot of things working on a 3rd gen. Plus in a few years my 87 is going to be a CLASSIC

I dont understand the contemplation between a Camaro and an Accord!!!

I mean, do you want to go fast and look cool or do you want to get groceries and good gas mileage?

I'd be forced to agree with korruption's simple summary of all the previous posts and said contemplations. Thx.

There you go. "New" thirdgen camaro has the bigger grill, and the obvious ground effects. The 91 and 92 year camaros had scoops on the ground effects, as you can see, in front of each tire. The non-91/92 (but 85+), were simply flat around that area.

The six in my camaro is still miraculusly running at around 280000 miles (It out lasted the first car it was in) I change the oil once a month plugs every 4 or five and keep the air filters clean. It always starts first crank with only a slight chevy puff from the valve seals if its been sitting for a while. The only problem is it has no *****. Im not very nice to it either becuase i vowed that i would not V8 the car untill the six blew and thats going on 4 years now.
