lt4 in a 87

ok here what im planning on doing, i guy i know has a 87 iroc with a bored 305 tpi with a 700r4 and i think a stock 10 bolt. he also has a smashed up 94 with an lt4 and he said he would sell the engine to me for 2500. i just have some general question if anyone would know the answers.

1.how hard would it be to pull eveything i need out the the 94 and put it all in the 87?
2.would the stock 700r4 and 10bolt be stong enough to support and stock lt4
3.how much would it cost for and swap and also a new computer for the lt4 since the old one got smashed in the crash

1. Not hard, just time consuming.
2. 4th gens came with 10 bolts didn't they? Yes it's strong enough. 700R4 should be, but don't be suprized if it blows soon.
3. New computer could be a couple hundred, depends on if it's new or used. The swap itself would be expensive since it's all manual labor and time consuming.

Stock 94 camaros came with LT1's, not LT4's. $2500 for just the engine, LT4 or not, is a lot of money, you could get a good running LT1 for 800 and spend the rest modding it above what an LT4 is.

yes the 4th gens came with a 10bolt...and alot of guys destroy them on even stock engines if you beat on them with slicks and drag launches. for street use...it would probably last...track...won't last long.

and as was stated above. the LT4 wasn't available untill 97 in the fbody, and that was VERY limited. does he actually have an LT4 or is it just the LT4 cam? or maybe the LT4 heads, cam, intake??

even if it is the h/c/i i wouldn't spend that much money on it. there are much better h/c setups out there.

i would keep looking
