I have tried searching this topic b4 posting. I have an 86 z28 that i am swapping a 355 lt1 engine into along with*t56 for 94-97 lt1. My question is do i have to use different motor mounts or can i use the clamshell style ones that were on the 86 along with the brakets that came off the 305 for the motor mounts. Each time i get one mount in the other sie does not match up. Please any advice is accepted. We have tried everything.

 

you have to use your 3rd gen style motor mounts! this includes the brackets that bolt on to the engine itself. So re-use all your mounting hardware from the 305 that you pulled out and you'll be good to go.
