My harness is from a 95 Caprice so I am going to put it on the drivers side battery tray.

My ECU is in the stock 3rd Gen location. Very clean, very well done, and out of sight out of mind.

My harness runs through the stock location and the hole is sealed from the outside. Very nice.

That's where I'd put it...just to clean up your engine bay, etc...

Well I wanted it to look nice and clean...so I purchased a Howell harness from TPIS and had Howell extend the wires so I could have it inside the car.

The harness is WELL worth the money. I got the connectors that I needed and not the ones I didn't...and everything works flawlessly.

That's the route I'd go...if I were you.

i see. that sounds nice, the guy helping me doesnt want to extend the wires, he wants to mount the pcm on the firewall behind the intake, or have me fabricate an bracket to mount it over the top of the intake. what do you think about that?
my thought is do that for now and later move it to inside the car. i am in a hurry and getting low on cash, so i am needing the car done asap.

Putting it over the intake will just heat it up like crazy! I'd put it on the firewall before putting it over the intake.

Good luck...let me know if you have any more questions...
