try www.thirdgenresource.com for the LS1 swap info(the even sell all the conversion parts needed to swap in an LS1)

The Lt1 swap should be easier to find info on, www.thirdgen.org is always great. And hell, there's a bunch of guys here that can help you out with swap questions.

Just my personal opinion here, but if i were you, i'd go with a LS1/T56 swap(pending you have the budget). You'll have the power of a 4th gen SS in your third gen

Good luck

Yea defanatly, only thing is I have to get a 3rd gen first! Im looking into building something really unique, for a reasonable price, I think this is the direction I will go....

Any prob with putting LS1 power into a 3rd gen Convert? im not crazy about leaking T-tops or Hardtops

Shouldnt be any more problematic than a hardtop/T-top car. I'll let you know this winter when I do my 6.0L swap.

does this proposed budget sound about right to you guys?...

$5-6K 3rd Gen convert
$5-8K motor/trans etc etc swap
$2-4K body/aprrerence

Total approx $15-$18K?

Or is that too wishfull? this does not include labor costs, which I do not yet know what i will need help with/ prob just wiring(that can get a little tricky)
As far as apprence, Mainly just body work and a nice paint job- wheels tires -- all the other goodies can come farther down the road (....4th gen interior peices )

....Great thing is I can drive the 3rd gen while I save for the Swap in the spring/summer, And can work on the car all winter long. Target is 1-2 years.... I love a project

Yea, im sure $15k will definately be enough. IN that link i posted earlier (www.thirdgenresource.com) they did a Ls1/T56 swap into a 1991 Z28 vert. It is by far to me the most unique third gen i've ever seen. If i were you i'd go check that out

Good Luck
