LT1 intake manifold on a tpi?!?!?!
how hard is it to take a lt1 intake manifold and make it bolt up to my tpi. is this somthing that i can convert in my garage? and do i need the fuel rail and upper and lower manifold???
i just found a doner motor and i gotta act fast. any help is appricated!!!

It is not really simple. Bolting the manifold up is no problem, you will not need any part of the original TPI manifold. You will have to drill the LT1 intake for a distributor since it uses an optispark and a custom spacer will have to be made to make the correct height for the distributor. Also, the LT1 has reverse coolant flow and therefore does not have a place on the intake to bolt your thermostat housing neck. This will require some engineering. Do some research before attempting this project. I am sure there are some on this board that can tell you exactly how to do it.

You can do it in your garage, as John at the link above did a few years back when he was starting out.
It doesn't seem that hard if you are good with measuring and cutting/drilling/welding.
I am not good at any of those tasks. John is a good guy too, he helped me with my TPI swap 4 years ago, redid the harness from MAF to SD, helped diagnose problems over the phone, etc....
