Talking LT1 Heads came today, updated the site!

The heads are here! I'm going to buy some T6061 Aluminum this week and possibly start tackling this project. Dang, these things are light! I wouldn't be afraid to say they weigh half as much as the old iron castings! I'd urge some of you fellow 3rd genners to attempt this. I can't say how difficult it will be, but it sure will be fun once it's all over and I'm beating LS1's!!!

Well, check out the site:

Looks good man. I'm sure by this point you know every nut and bolt in your car. I am almost there myself. Good luck with it.

Yeah, if you check the shipping weight, you'll probably find they're about 21-23 lbs.

Bolt patterns are the same from heads-block. Only problems:

Intake
I'm using a converted LT1 Intake from www.LT1Intake.com so that's that.

Reverse Cooling
There are the standard 6 cooling ports in the middle. LT1 Heads, which are reverse cooled, also have an extra four (tw on each side) on the ends of the cylinder head. These extra four simply need to be blocked up. I plan on buying some T6061 aluminum (3/16" Flatstock maybe) and cutting it out to shape. I'll tap the piece into the cooling ports ~1/8" deep, then weld them into place. Take the heads to a machine shop, have them milled.

Walah.

70 bucks eh.....and comes to around 200 total? Get some porting done on that and it seriously wins out over purchasing a similarly designed mini ram for around 1000 dollars from a company that i hear a lot of questionable things about.....might have to go that route my self

You can do the same with an LT1 engine with an LT1 intake with a dist. hole added.

Haha, I would, but then there'd be no room for the XE 230/236
I've got an L98 cam, trade you straight up?
