I WAS JUST WODERING IF IT WOULD WORTH MY WHILE TO PURCHASE A SET OF LT1 HEADS AND PORT THEM OUT FOR MY L69 CARBED 305? IF ANYONE HAS INFO ON THIS TOPIC I WOULD SURE APPECIATE SOME HELP. THANKS RIKDOG P.S. MY Z IS A 1984 WITH T-5 IN ALMOST MINT COND.
Hot Rod or Car Craft did an article on how to retro fit LT1 heads on a Gen 1 SBC. I had the page bookmarked, but I dont have the other computer anymore
If you look around enough you might find it.

No, LT1 heads are totally different and wont bolt up to our blocks without some major modification. And the price of that makes them not worthwhile. The best heads for 305's would be the L98 aluminums or the 305 S/R Torquers.

Or just save your money and buy a 350 block and build it...

The heads will bolt up to your block. The intake bolts will be different and the coolant passage. </font>
