Eric, I'm sorry if I offended you, that wasnt my intention. You helped me out with some LT1 radiator conversion questions a while ago and I just wanted to say Hi. I used to be 82Lt1 but my account got messed up.
Again, sorry for the confusion,

But thanks for the apology...and sorry for responding like that.
Well I moved my motor mount on the passenger side back slightly when I swapped the LT1 the 1st time, so I could run A/C. BUT...either way...the back of the compressor is where the lines come out, and they are close enough to the motor mount that you can't really run lines. So...I don't know what to say.
That's why I didn't run it the 2nd time I swapped...but that's just me.

About the T56 part. I'm also in the process of installing a 95 T56 into my 87 IROC. The only problem I had was the two top holes on the bracket were too small so I had to drill those out a little larger.
Also, I wanted to try and keep my cruise control but the steering lock from the shifter is in the way of installing the kill swith on the brake pedal. I figure once that cable is out I can fit it back in. Then I have to tap into those wires and run another kill switch to the clutch pedal.
It's really an easy job to do. Its just a PITA cause theres no room to move your arms under there. Its basically all wrist movments.
(Man... that sounds wrong...

I dont remember who's car it was but I was looking at pics of someones car over on thirdgen.org that had done the lt1 swap and they actually cut out/notched the spot in the crossmember for the air conditioning and welded in new metal down lower to reinforce it so it just looked like the crosmember had a dip in it for the air conditioning.

that sounds a lot better than beating it with a hammer. that might be a way to go. also antoher one i heard that i havent researched was to use a passenger side motor mount from a lt1 b-body. like a caprice or something. now i dont know if it sits farther back or if it raises the side of the engine more. id find out before i tried it because i wouldnt want my engine sitting on a slant.
