What are you guys with LT1s running at the track? Just curious cause my buddys camaro just dosn't seem fast enough for the mods he has. Check all that out on the sight in my sig. It's Jasons Iroc. Let me know what you think

 

I'm not into drag racing...otherwise I'd have times. I do, however, enjoy turning and braking...on a road course.

Who ported the heads and what do they flow?

Where did you get that cam, and what are the specs on it?

 

He has an Lt4 cam, but i think the problem is his inconsisten launches.

 

I just don't get it, he should still be faster than what he is. I mean his fastest is 13.6 and he is consistently in the 14s after that

 

Lots in the launch with that kind of combo.... Good launches will probably get solid mid-low 13s.....

But I see a few things that need attention:

- Edelbrock headers..... (these things blow)
- Cam.... (needs to be bigger )
- Tires.... (If drag racing is gonna be the thing to do with that car, must have at least DRs - preferably ET Streets)
- Air intake... (not sure if it is like the picture or not right now, but that thing will kill a bunch of power for ya... If it has the TPI intake duct now, disregard this one)

Has it been dyno tuned? Or at least tuned with a wide band O2 of some sort for WOT? If not, there's another thing to do.

Some ideas......

 

For what he has 103MPH is about right. Is he running those 255/50r16 radials with the 4.56 gears? Tell him to get a better tire and get rid of the 4.56. A swap to 4.10 or even 3.73 would improve his launch and improve both ETs and MPH. The engine can't rev fast enough to keep up with that gearing.
