LT1 in 3rd gen....motor mounts used???

I have one week to accumulate all the knowledge I can about the swap. What motor mounts are to be used when installing the LT1 in my car? I do plan on keeping A/C and would like to go with a good set of mounts. let me know what you have used and what has worked for you. Any other install tips would be well appreciated. I have a feeling I will be posting many questions concerning the install over the next few weeks so bear with me. But by all means, help me.

the stock style mounts should work i believe. But i'd upgrade to some urethane ones since the motor is out already. Espeically if a 6 speed is going in there with it, its gonna put more stress on those mounts when you launch that thing. But if you want to gain some real knowledge fast, go to thirdgen.org and do a search of LT1 swap, and there is unbelievable amounts of information out there on it. I think they might even have a tech article write up on it. Its a fairly straight forward swap as far as putting the motor in, its a little more difficult to make everything work afterwards..

you use the thirdgen motor mounts. go to thirdgen.com's message boards. look under engine swap and then LTX and LSX.

Re: LT1 in 3rd gen....motor mounts used???

lt1's are very very similar to first gen small blocks
the mounts are the same
the problem is the ac compressor interferes with the frame rail and i hear with the k-member
you can get away by doing some banging on the frame rail or so i hear
again thirdgen.org has alot of usefull info
