Question Low End vs High End

Why does everyone try for high-end power? The TPI, by nature, is a low end engine so why not go for combo's that offer high power 2k-4.5 or something like that vs 6+k? What is the probabitlity of building a fast, high torque car? Thanks

A good ONE! there are plenty of TPI setups that go high 12s and use the basis of the TPI setup..... See John Lengifelter setups for TPI...

Also... See South Cali F-body... there is a guy with a sweet L98 makes like 400 ft-lbs to the wheels... A red 91 Z I think?

Thumbs up

Ah, Mr. Kevin Lorentzen. He is a prime example of low-end TPI torque put to good use. His set up is still the OEM style TPI. OEM style becuase he uses the long tube runners, not a SuperRam or anything exotic, although he does have aftermarket TPI parts. Do a search here, or thridgen.org for Kevin91Z (as well as SC3G in my sig). He is usually around.

High end is usually reserved for racing activities. I plan to build my "TPI" setup to go into the 6K field, since I plan to road race it. For ultimate ET, you definately want low-end torque. TPI will get you those results. TPI is one of the best hot-street setups for our cars, without winding out the engine for RPM HP.
