Post Lost in the terror

well how can i start this off. I am in need of help from anyone. This is the problem(s) for a while(about 3-4 weeks) my battery hasn't been charging, only going upto the black line just above 8. Before this happened my battery all of a sudden was charging at like 16-17 for like 2 days. Now my car doesn't want to try over. I am wondering if its the altenator, battery, or my electronical system???? Anyone with help on this I would very much appreicate it

Marty

Forgot to mention that I have been recieving a code 32 for about 2 weeks. and today i thought i had fixed it and at the same time the battery indicator was at about11 while running ( this before it crapped out).

Well, without knowing the specs of your car this is gonna be a little tuff. But incase you didn't know, heres what I have on code 32.

Fuel injected Models (V8 only)

EGR System
restricted Vacuum hose to EGR solenoid or valve;poor electrical connection, open or short in circuit;defective EGR soleniod;defective EGR valve; defective ECM

Carbureted Models
Differential Pressure Sensor

defective DPS; poor electrical connection; open or shirt in circuit; defective ECM

That is what I have on code 32. I know from experience that with my carbed 86, the electric choke got stuck because the regulator in my alternator went bad. My volts were spiking at wot and droping to almost nothing at idle, while the car idled @ 2000 in park. Made the neighbors a little mad till I could fix the problem But I swaped the alternator and no more problem. I doubt this is the same prob for you, just my input. the way our cars are setup, power goes through so many different things, its hard to keep track. It could be any number of things for you. Good luck

Sounds to me like its your altenator. The car uses the battery to start then runs off the altenator while running. We'll it sounds like your altenator is cooked and you've been running off your battery for the past couple days...it also could be a problem in your electrical but I'am willing to bet its your altenator, I've gone through 3 and ive had my car for over 4 years...

BTW, once one dies, the other usually dies. If its your alternator, I'd look into a new battery also. They are kind of a parasitic force upon eachother.
