looking for performance
I have a 1992 Z28 Camaro Convert. with a 5.0 V8 and 305 cubic in. I'm looking for dual exhaust something like a Borla or a Flowmaster. I don't just want the muffler, I want the whole system because this fake dual exhaust just isn't cutting it. Also I was wondering how I can get more air in my baby because the air filter thing is real sucky. There has to be some way to get more air. If anyone has any more tips or performance parts please let me know. Thanks.

Welcome to the board.
As far as exhaust goes, Flowmaster (and I think Borla, too) don't make true-dual exhaust systems. Borla might, I'm not sure. Do a search for "dual exhaust" or "true dual" and you should find plenty of information.
As far as intake, what kind do you have? I'm guessing TPI, which is definitely restrictive as far as airflow if it's still all stock. Get yourself an air foil, siamesed runners, and port match everything you can in there; that should give you some good flow. If you happen to have a carb or TBI, go with a K&N filter and see if you can find a dual inlet air cleaner for sale on eBay (or anywhere, really).
Good luck!

CAI (cold air induction), headers, 3" exhaust to a single out muffler will be more than enough for anything your stock engine can handle.......want a little more go with the port matching and a few other free mods that you can do yourself.
true dual exhaust will be a waste of time for your current setup.

What about 1.6 roller tip rockers, Air foil, port the intake everywhere and a true 3" exhaust. If its a Z28, you have the two square filters..remove the baffles and get a pair of K&N filters..I don't know how much you would gain..it is a 305! Anyone have an Idea on how much power would be gained by this?
Rig up some Ram Air boxes, go to;

in there is some pics of a ram air box, you can buy or get and idea of how to make them. Port match everything, get a fuel pressure reg, 52mm tb and with an exhaust, get someone local to make you up a True dual setup, paint the exhaust in the middle of the car and drive(not long), stop and look at the paint, where is the paint almost completly gone cause it has burned off? Right there is where you put in a X pipe cross over, don't go with H pipe to restrictive, Dyno's have seen X's flow like open headers..

Cold air kit, K&N air filter, Big mouth siamesed air runners, port match heads to intake, VORTECH SUPERCHARGER. Jet coated headers and collectors, H or X pipe to the dual Borla (yes Borla makes true duals)exhaust.

Buy a et of SLP Intake runners and a set of SLP 1-5/8" Headers. Have your intake port matched to the runners. Take the screens off of the MASS air sensor. Buy K&N Air filters, Make a ram Air box like the guy above is helping you with. Top it off with a Nitrous Express Nitrous kit(NX for short). Spray i with a 75 HP shot like I did. The shot of nitrous ALONE dropped 1.4 seconds of of my 1/ mile time. I went from 15.60's to 14.20'
I really wanted to do headers and a ported intake to get me solid into the 13's but oh well..Goodluck man. If you followed those mods with STICKY tires, a 100 shot, and maybe like a 3.73 or 3.42 gear...YOU might have a good shot at a 12 second run!! later man!

Go to thirdgen.org and look under tech articles. Pretty much anything there will help you out.
I'd just go with the basic open element, a $20 drop base with $54 K&N 14 round 3.5 inch high from summit and presto off to a good start.

Yeah I was thinking of headers and 3" catback exhaust for my 1LE but also in the near future was thinking about ram air. I looked on hawks parts but the RA boxes are only for the TPI engines whereas my car has the 305 TBI. Where can i find RA boxes for this engine?
