are you showing any codes? sounds like you may have 1 of 3 things wrong, fuel press regulater diaphram has a hole, leaky injectors or your coolant temp sensor is sending a weird signal but i suspect that the least and the fuel press the most.

no ....no codes

It starts up fine and then once warmed up... my air/fuel gauge..the cheap kind with just the light...PEGS WAY RICH! and the car almost dies.....does it at idle and under load. ..when under load the car just has no power like its flooded with fuel.

O2 has been changed.
coolant sensor has been changed.
plugs, fuel filter, checked sparkplug wires.

im all aftermarket .....so how can i check the fuel pressure reg and or the injectors?

if they are orig to that car and never been serviced im willin to bet a new set would help things greatly.

fuel pressure gauge would be my guess. BigBadLou might know better about how to check the FP. think someone else recently posted bout that but cant remember.

no they are no original....they at SVO 30lbs injectors.

and im running an aftermarket FPR too.

everything is aftermarket.

see my sig

ive had leaky injectors before and they would leak down and not let the car fire up after shuting off cause the fuel would pool up in the intake and after some minutes the car would start.

lol good one!.....ummm got one of those and also have an inline gauge too attached to my nitrous lines.

so how does that tell me of the FPR is bad?

I have checked the fuel pressure and it reads 42psi which is what i set it at.

are you letting the PCM manage fuel or do you have an aftermarket FMU?

What kind of PCM do you have and did you get a tune/chip?

With the 30lb injectors I'm assuming you have MPFI...

i just took vids of what its doing.

The car ran fine..then all of a sudden it started doing this and has been for a while now and i cant figure out what the hell is going on.

The PCM is managing fuel and has been....yes it has a tune and has had the same tune since i built the motor along time ago and it ran fine for starters......ran a 7.7 1/8 first time out.

no it has MAF.

it starts loading up on fuel and surges real bad and RPM's drop and air/fuel gauge pegs rich.

i need to get the vids uploaded so you can see how its acting.

oh and i disconnected the inline FP gauge and attached the manual fuel pressure gauge and it reads 42-45psi vaccum plugged and about 8 or so psi less plugged.

MPFI
Multi Port Fuel Injection

as opposed to throttle body injection

Without shotgunning the problem it would be better to try to try a computer diagnostic see if there are any stored codes that could give a clue. Even if there isn't a SES light on it may have stored codes.

If that isn't possible you can try this if you have headers.... temp the primaries with an infrared thermometer... One or more cylinders could temp cold indicating they are running too fat or misfiring.

  • What is the PCM you have in your car?
  • If OEM then what year, make and model car did it come out of?
  • If aftermarket what brand and model?
  • Who tuned the PCM for your car?
  • Are you using narrow band sensors on each bank like OEM?
  • Is your A/F ratio gauge using a separate wideband sensor or is it somehow tied into the PCM?

Sorry for all the questions but since you have a HIGHLY modified car it comes with the troubleshooting territory.

On a good note it looks like your fuel pressure is within the range although a bit high at idle... typically it should be about 35PSI at idle. Your pressure is around 39PSI. Can that be adjusted? I'm not familiar with aftermarket FPR.
