Is there any advice anyone can give me though? Just general advice about driving a stick.. any little secrets, and maybe a few tips on racing , heh heh , if you could.

I have driven a bunch of sticks and I would say first learn the gears. When your coming to a stop instead of pushing in the clutch and putting it in first, hold the clutch while stopping go back down through the gears 54321. The more you go through them the better you'll get. Also, practice on hills. Start off on a decent hill. hold the brake and clutch while you slowly let out the clutch you'll feel it hold the car. You will stall it a couple times but it is better than spinning on everyhill or burning out your clutch.

hope this helps

sitting in ruch hour trffic suck when you drive a stcik, but thats the only down fall. my first car was a 5spd firebird and boy do i miss it, well not really, it was a V6 but it sure was fun as hell banging thru the gears.
