Most likely the tranny, engine harness, PCM/computer/ECM. That should be the most of it. Of course there are going to be other little things you come across as you put it in there.

Yah, why swap to an LT1? And LT1 is just an L98 with a better intake manifold, parts that cost more, and a faulty distributor. You can build an L98 to make the same power for less money.

Re: L98 to LT1

uh no. An lt1 is different. Gen II. Differnent engine block, heads. Reverse cooling. If you're really worried about the opti there are plenty of aftermarket alternative including coil packs. Sure there have been optispark complants but the vented optis on the 95-97s aren't too bad. 94-95 are obdi which are way easier/cheaper to program/tune than the obdii 96-97 lt1 and the ls1s. Do what you want, but the LT1 is a good engine to swap. 95 would be the best year to get for a stock LT1.

Difficulty also depends on what tranny you're going with too for your swap. A 4l60e or T56 from an LT1 are recommended.

I know one minor problem in thirdgen f-bodies is the LT1 a/c for f-body LT1s. Bowers race and rod shop makes an a/c relocation bracket kit for about $275. However, most of the thirdgen guys just take a 20oz ballpin hammer to the frame to clear the a/c or they get an a/c delete pulley. You might not be able to get away with using a hammer on the c4, sorry not familiar with C4s. If you have a vette lt1, you wont have to worry about it.

forget the engine swap, just swap the intake manifolds and you will have lt-1 performance from your l 98 motor. no computer change or nothing. i have a link to a guy who sells the whole set up. i got an lt-1 manifold that i have convert but just not installed yet. john@ltiintakes.com try emailing him.

John doesn't run LT1intake.com anymore, he sold it. Try Scott@lt1intake.com
