L-98 vs. LT-1 .. 0-60

Yeah an L98 has more low end torque, but w/ an LT1, you still have gobs of torque down low as well as a lot more top end than an L98. And you're not down below 3000 rpm for very long anyway, so by 40 the LT1 is going to start pulling the L98 pretty hard.
Hey patriot, do you have any pics of your car? I liked the 92 Zs. I used to have an 87 Z28 w/ a 350 TPI in it. Well, I put the 350 in it, it had the 305 (LB9) originally. That was a fun swap.

Thankx ... My car was one of the last ones built in Van Nyes . I read they put old leftover Corvette L-98 parts on the last batch of Z-28's . Rough Runners & Blank TB plate were 2 noticeable ones .
I need to have my car dyno'd cause I think it may have some more inside . I raced a LT-1 from a 35mph roll and at 100mph I had 1 1/2 car lead on him . My car is stock .

Sound's like a nice built L98, don't think it's too stock. Check the heads.

I'm not claiming to be a world beater . I find it strange too that I beat him by 1 1/2 cars . All I know is I bought the car brand new . All I have is K/N & TB airfoil . Thats why I think I need to get it dyno'd . There may be something else Van Nyes did to my car that I don't know about .

Yeah I had an L98 too, and I thought that I could take LT1s....problem was, I never actually raced one past 60, it was always short bursts, and I'd get them out of the hole and then we'd go, then it would be over. But I know now they would have started passing me up after a few seconds....race a stock LT1 from a 50-120 roll and tell me what happens? The one LT1 I did race had a CAI and a 3" exhaust and an airfoil ( big woop), (my best friend's car back when I had the L98) and he walked me BAD. I started out in front, thought I was cool, he was in my lane behind me....then after a few seconds I look in my rear view mirror, and there he is switching lanes so he didn't nail me in my bumper. He blew past me so easy on the highway.

Very possible for a stock L98 91-92 car to beat a heavy/loaded LT1 car that is also stock. I've seen stock LT1's run 13.6-.7 bone stock and I've seen stock L98 cars run 14.0's with no mods however I've also seen both L98's and LT1's running 14.50's bone stock. A proper matchup and anyone could win.
I'm a thirdgen guy but my sidebet might be on the LT1...lol chances are it would start pulling on the top end at least
