K-member help

I couldn't find a chassis section so I'll post here. I'm completely rebuilding my '91 Camaro, and I mean down to the bones. It's getting set up for autocrossing and road course. I wanted to swap the stock K-member for a tubular one but some people tell me it's too weak for road courses, it's only good for dragracing. Is this true? I noticed alot of you on here are running tubular K-members but I don't know what you are using the cars for. Any help in this area would be good. Thanks

this debate has gone back and forth for quite some time.....everyone that truly races autox with the thirdgens has custom made their own k members or retained the stock pieces. i have yet to find anyone to compete with any tubular setup to compare.

lots of us running them on the streets as well as drag racing though with little to no problems....most of which have been complaints in fitment which can be easily fixed if necessary. if these units can take 3' drops and such i would assume they would work but we all know what assuming can do.

good luck.
