Installing Power Steering Pump Pulley?

I just put the new motor in the RS with serpentine, friend of mine gave me a tool to remove the pulley from the PS pump so i could remove the serp brackets, now everythings in the car n the pulley won't go on all too easily, n I dont have much room to swing a hammer, tapping it dont work.... is the shaft threaded? what thread size is it? is there a tool or a special trick u can use to get that frikkin pulley on there?

yes the end of the shaft is threaded, and yes there is a special tool

get a bolt that is(i think) 5/16 coarse thread 3 inches long, and a nut that fits, and a couple of washers,

assmble the hardware as follows: bolt, thread the nut aboult 2 1/2 inches up, then place the washers over the end of it

hold the pulley up to the shaft, then thread the bolt (with nut and washers on it) into the end of the shaft

it will be like this, bolt, nut, washers, pulley, shaft

use two wrenches, hold the bolt and turn the nut so is tightens against the pulley, make sure the pulley is lined up to the shaft, then keep tightening (it will be pretty hard) the nut until the pulley is all the way on

it may help to lightly coat the inside of the shaft hole on the pulley with oil (penetrating, engine, p/s, ect.,)

Yep. When it's "home" the front edge of the pulley hub will be flush with the front of the pump shaft snout.

Thanks guys, while waiting for a reply I figured out that a stock exhaust manifold bolt fits right in there, got the pulley almost all the way in, when SNAP, the frikkin bolt snaps inside of the pump, so either i remove it all n drill out the snapped bolt, or I figure out another way to do this - either my hammer isnt heavy enough or i just flat out have no space to put momentum to it cuz that damn pulley will not move so much as a millimeter further!

any ideas? i was tryin to use a gear puller to clamp into the serp bracket n push the pulley on but no go, not enough space n probably not enough length on the gear puller either.

is this a "take it all out n break drill bits till the broken bolt comes out" scenario? i actually figured that the big bearing washer type thing from a balancer installer tool works great for this too... too bad the bolt bottomed out n snapped, was makin real headway on it.
