Injector size????

I have a 30 over 350 w/ 10:1 forged flat tops, for now stock ported heads, HSR intake, and probably going w/ a ZZ9 or 409 cam, about a 3k stall in a 700R-4 w/ 4.10s. I'm planning on putting about a 100 shot of N20 on it too. What size ijnectors should I go with??? Thanx, Chris.

Re: Injector size????

Hope I don't come off as being a "pain in the @$$" but your injector sizing is going to be a LOT less important than the time spent getting your tune right for those mods...

But off the top of my head, I'd probably see if someone made 26 lb. injectors, & if not, go with the 28 lb. units...

(Didn't thirdgen.org or someone have an injector-sizing applet somewhere...? )

Good luck!

24s should be fine.remember you have alot of FP to play with, there is great formula for figuring out what your lb/hr will be at any given press, but i cant type it because there arent the right symbols.go to MSD's website and it's in the injector section.

Yep - take a look on thirdgen.org's message boards. There's a lot of knowledge there, inc. a section devoted to just that topic. Oh, one more thing - from everything I've heard, you'll be a lot happier if you stay away from the "generic" aftermarket chips like Hypertech.

(EDIT: The TGO boards appear to be down for maintenance right now...)

Good luck!

Re: Injector size????

I'm going to have someone burn me a prom for the mods I have. Just curious, anyone know if the car will be driveable with the stock prom?

Re: Injector size????

It should run - it will just be rich. The bigger cam will have less vacuum and the computer will add fuel. If you have an AFPR, you might want to pull some pressure. It won't solve the rich problem, but it should help. I wouldn't suggest driving it too much until you get the chip burned.

Check out moates.net - he has all the stuff you need to burn your own chips and thirdgen has great posts to get you started on the right track.

BTW - 24's should be fine once the computer programming is sorted out. That's what I'm running on a similar setup.

Good Luck!

Re: Injector size????

With all the mods you have done I would find someone local who can take the car & burn the chip while it is still in the car that way they know if the car is going to run right or not.

Cool Re: Injector size????

You would probabaly need between 24lbs to 28lbs fuel injectors.
