im so damned disgusted with my camaro
im so damn disgusted with my camaro it isnt even funny, i did the drum brakes today, all is good they went on in 2 hours for both sides another hour to adjust em, now my tranny leak that has been acting up, starting, stopping, starting stopping, is now leaking again, and faster, someone told me from the front main seals. but the front main seal is not behind the pan is it. its the rear main seal from when we did the rear, i loosed up on my tv cable heard seals with blow from to much pressure. so i put a little lucas in there maybe itll stop it, well see, oh and my brand new fan relay is acting up just like the hold one where you have to wiggle it so the fans come on, what a damn nightmare, im so discusted, im going to get some dinner in my other car maybe take my mind off this, im gonna murder my mechanic if it is the rear main seal afterall, can anbody agree that front main seal dosent leak behind the pan, somethings up here
Your front tranny seal is behind the convertor around the shaft your convertor slides on. The rear seal is in the rear tailhouseing and seals againt the driveshaft yoke. When you loosend the TV cable, you didn't mean loosen at the trans that will creat a leak.
The TV cable doesn't have a loose or tight setting. You can't just loosen it at the intake. It determins the shift points of your tranny.
If adjusted wrong you can fry your trans.

everybody says that, i loosed the cable up where she dosent slam on a downshift any more, made a more smoother shift, i thought that the hydraluic pressure might have been weeking my seals, her shift points are normal i think i did ok, they way they say to adjust that cable isnt working on my camaro, maybe my camaro was manufactured in africa, i dont know, but, when i adjust the the directins say, she wont shift out of first gear till 5000rpm no matter how soft or hard you drive it, so i adjusted it to a smooth reasonable shift, no slams, no slips, i dont think il fry any tranny there, today im going to buuy those little ramp extensions for my ramps so i can get under there and check my pan bolts, because this car does tend to rattle and shake on the road like a mother.
Yea, I agree the directions they give for adjusting it are just like for a turbo 350 and I have never been able to get it set right by going by the directions. I've only found trial and error to work (adjusting a little at a time till you get it rite).
so never the less, i crawl under the car today(and good thing i did) all my tranny pan bolts where loose, how it did leak all the fluid out i dont know(this would also explain while my entire undercarriage is wet, but the bigger leak that has given me problems, is, in fact, after me swearing to it 3 weeks ago, my rear tailshaft seal. i told that damn mechanic what it was, he said it was the front seal. hes an ***$hole, hes fired, after i make an appointment with a garage somewhere ill get it fixed, i hope i can make it down a few miles, its only dripping slightly i should be fine. and the headers i was getting and letting that mechanic install, is over , i feel like cutting the one stupid subframe connector he put on thier, im so tired of getting fuc$ked by mechanics it isnt even funny, seems evey spring when shes ready to go on the road for the summer the work i get done over the winter is ****ty,
when you install that rear tail shaft seal your supposed to lube it with some old tranny fluid before putting the driveshaft thru it. i bought the seal and bushing kit, whats the bushing for, is it easy to change. let me know
It's a seal that go's between the tail houseing and main body of the trans.I suggest if it's not leaking don't F with it. You'll have to remove the torque arm and disconnect the converter bracket from the trans. tailhouseing, and disconnect the speedo cable plus remove the driveshaft. Damn I wish you were closer,I'd change out the seals for free as long as you supply the beer.
to bad, ill supply the beer you bring the skirts, lol but anyway, the rear tail shaft seal, you just need to take out the shaft then pry it out with a screw driver, id do it myself, but i have no leverage on my back, mor eor less those uj strap bolts where put on with a air wrench be damned if i can get em off. talked to my guitarist, hes gonna handle what my mechanic ****ed up.
