Question Im confused, is my car a half year or !?

I have a 2.8 v6 85 camaro. The vin year is F so its an 85 according to that. However, it has the front of an 84 camaro, as well as a cable driven speedo. But didnt the 85's come with the electric speedos and the solid front bumper (without the three slots)? It doesnt have a tach, it has a fuel guage in its place. Also the tail lights are that of a pre 85.

Thanks

Laterz

Probably had some front end damage at one time and the parts were replaced off a parts car. That would be my best guess.

Electronic speedometers were not offered in Camaros until 1990. Pontiac versions had them, starting in 1986, I believe.

I meant electronic. My mistake.

Now quit hiding and answer the question that I am still waiting for an answer for. You claim a lot of things but don't seem to be able to back them up.

Like LT1Powered85Z stated, cable driven speedos were on ALL Camaros until 90.

And as far as the bumper, only the Z28 and IROC got the revised front bumpers in 85. The older style bumpers were on all standard (Sport Coupe, Berlinetta, and LT) Camaros until 87. The Berlinetta was dropped, the LT was a one year only deal, and the Sport Coupe got a one year only update. When the RS in 89 became the base model it got the Z28 style bumpers and GFX.

EDIT: The 87 and 88 RS got the Z28 sytle bumpers, GFX, and taillights, but were offered in very limited production. CA only in 87, and CA, TX, and FL in 88.

The grid tailights again, were only on the 85 and up Z28 and IROC, and the RS received them later on. Base Camaros from 85-88 got the single black bar style, like the older 82-84 Z28.

Now I don't see any mention of a cable driven speedometer
here...MMMMM

And the answer to your question is in your reply, if you can figure it out.

WTF are you talking about?

I edited my 1st reply because I had a typo. I initially wrote "cable driven" rather than "electronic" which I meant. Which I said in the post that you just quoted. How stupid are you?

Yeah the answer to my question is in my reply. The answer is that you claim a lot of stuff but don't really have any knowledge of what you're talking about, so when called upon to back up your claims, you run like a small child. I asked you to inform me of where/why you made a certain claim regarding vehicle performance in relation to performing a modification. What did you do? You left that post and now avoid it like the plague. Why? Because you can't answer my question. You can't back up your clams...your empty claims.

You have already proved your worth to everyone here in the Tech section, which is absolutly ZERO. You aren't worth anything, technically speaking...and I'm not the only one who feels that way.

You also can not read what you wrote & what decent Tech input have you supplied lately??? Some of your Posts do not warrant any replies. Learn some manners for a change...

87DJP2001: Not trying to attack you or anything, but I'll back LT1Powered85Z on this. I've seen a few of your replies lately that were best left unsaid. The only thing they accomplished were unnecessary confusion to less knowledgeable members and angering the ones who know better. You obviously have some knowledge on these cars, but everytime you post its just more misguided conjecture.

If I don't know something about the topic, I don't reply. I'll let someone else who knows what they are talking about reply, rather than guessing and throwing out putdowns - like the TBI bashing you've done lately. I suggest you do the same

"You also can not read what you wrote"...wth does that mean? I can't read what I wrote? What I wrote looks pretty damn coherant to me. Where's the problem? Please list my fault.

What decent tech input have I offered? Check out the board...I help where I can and with what I know about, and leave the topics that I am uneducated in, alone. Overall I have helped probably over a few hundred people with LT1 swap questions...I'm not stupid, regardless of what you think.

What's funny is that others post in regards to your lack of real knowledge and your lack of ability in actually helping someone when they post.

Sad.

And then you have the audacity to say that my posts don't deserve replies. LOL...all that is is a blatently obvious excuse as to why you "shouldn't have to" reply to my question challenging your pathetic claims and worthless preachings.

Again...dumb.

At least I don't have to worry about asking tech questions and having you give me some lame worthless reply, like you know what you're talking about, which would do nothing but mislead me like you do others when you spew forth your unintelligence.
