idle
idle
1990 350. My car idles in park at around 7500 until the 02 sensor warms up and then it slows down to about 5500-6000. When it slows down it sounds like if it dropped even 250 rpm lower itd stall and VERY occasionally it does. I was just basically wondering as to what is the normal rpm that the 350s idle at when warm and if maybe i should raise mine a bit.
thx for any info

Its your IAC motor/sensor whatever you wanna call it.
You're idle is perfectly fine for a stock motor. However if your IAC is dirty/clogged then tyou should get a new one because its not letting the required "controlled vacuum leak" around the throttle blades to supply the motor with adequate idleing air.

yeah im not convinced its bad it only really died on me once (ive only had the car on the road a couple times i just got it) but i had been driving it really hard and then brought it to a stop in my driveway and then it died. I was looking at where the throttle cable attached to the tb and it looked like i could just adjust where it sat for the idle pretty easily. Will this work? how do i tell if my IAC is bad? Dont really want to replace things for the sake of replacing things
