Try thirdgen.org. It should have all the answers you need.

I wouldn't settle for less than an Iroc-z. If you have to have a 350, they were made from 87 up and all were TPI's and automatic. If you want a 5 speed, a 305 will have to do, but you can always change the motor if you want.

The best and fastest ones are the 89-92 models with TPI, 4-wheel disc brakes, and dual catalytic converters. You'll find those in either 350 automatic or 305 5-speed.

I vote for 91-92s. Mine serves as a daily driver 22 miles each way to work and all it takes is a set of drag radials and Im ready to cut 1.7 60fts and mid 13s in good air with as little as a very mild converter, a few suspension pieces and bolt ons. The ride isnt harsh and I still get decent gas mileage for a 102k mile well abuse stock L98....

91-92 Z28 w/ the L98 350, or an iroc-z
I'd at least get a 87 or up.

I would say get a 91-92, The ground effects are real good looking and instead of hood louvers you'll have hood blisters which you can always take off and put the louvers in if you rather have them. Just do a search and look at both the I-ROC and 91-92 Z28 and choose what you would rather have. I like the 350 TPI but I would take the 305 TPI as well, There both good engines but again it all depends on what you want, if you want economy i would take the 305 but if you want more of a preformance engine id only take the 350. Good luck

PS. www.thirdgen.org is a great site to go to if you have a 3rd gen.
