The kit is made for people who don't understand the concept of the way it works.

The coolant normally comes out of you intake manifold and takes a direct turn up into the base of your throttlebody, then goes through it's passages and out the passenger side of the throttlebody and in to the heater core, then back to the rad.

What you want to do is run a line from the input of your heater core, to the coolant outlet that is on the front of your base manifold. All you are doing is taking the throttlebody out of the cooling loop, and going directly to the heater core.

I personally used a short piece of hose coming off the intake then a 90 degree fitting, then one long heater hose going all the way to the heater core.
I don't run that stock plastic vaccum operated crappy junction on my car.

Could someone post a diagram of how they did the TB bypass and parts needed?
Thanks

Sorry to bring this back from the dead.... but I am curious WHY GM put this coolant design on the TPI? Do the LT1s have the same thing?

they did to heat the TB so if youre driving the car during the dead of winter the TB blades dont ice over.

How could it ice over anyway unless they got wet?

So only really if the car sat in a freezing place? If it was parked there for a night or two I doubt the blades could accumulate enough condensation to freeze. Hm, good thinking on GM's part I geuss. Except for us guys after every last pony
