I have a question-

- anyone familiar with the "GM wonder bar"? All I know is: it is a strut tower brace. Am I right-if not let me know! Also, if I am right- how much benifit would it be putting it on my 83 Camaro?
Thanks, Matt

The wonderbar is a steering brace and not the strut tower brace and if you don't have one it will definitely help.

its a brace that bolts underneath the sway bar brackets, it ties the left frame rail to the right frame rail, the reason it is needed is because the high torque loads caused by the steering box can produce stress cracks in the frame. the bar does stiffin up the steering system and most people consider it a noticable improvement

I would say yes, any loss of flex in the frame equates to less loss of torque power to the wheels. Beside you can problbly pick one up at the dismantelers for a song and dance. I wouldn't spend money for an aftermarket, stock piece is just as good and cheaper.
