This could mean a ton of things. Iv discovered so far a couple of things with my car that has lead to running rich.

First, I had an EGR problem - some of the lines were full of carbon and gas fumes were leaking out of the system.
Second, after doing a tuneup, I found one of the spark plugs (If I remember it was from cyl 7) had absolutely no gap at all.

No error codes, car runs smooth and does not seem to skip or miss.

should be on the driver side header. right before the collectors. They cost about $20 at any auto store. They are kinda a pain - i just did it today. Bit wrench something like 21mm?? anyway its big and there is not much room to work. I guess they make a special socket for it, ask if they rent it when you buy it at the auto parts place.

they do make a special socket

the size is 7/8th

i've attempted 3 or 4 times already, but havn't got it off, yet. I'm probably going to end up taking a bunch of crap off so i can get to it easier

as for location: on the driver's side, it's near the last sparkplug, i believe. you can't miss it, if you're looking near the sparkplugs

i used to get a gas smell from my car when i was at idle ... my damn cats were clogged to death. took them out, smell went away. there was this one time though i smelled gas again but it was a different smell and it was because i needed to change my O2 sensor.... change your fuel filter while your at it, if you need to change your o2 sensor, you probably need a new filter too.

Yeah, pretty much, most computer controlled ones anyways. It gives exhaust sampling data to the computer so it can trim the fuel mixture.
