Hp numbers for a modded 305

Well I`m putting a set of heads on and intake and carb I would like to know how much power it has

The engine is a LG4 305 with the following modds

Offy Duel plane duel port intake

Holley 600 cfm carb (freshley rebuilt)

1" spacer

305 heads that have been bowl blended gasket mached and exshust ports smoothed and the intake valves are now 1.94"s

1 5/8" headmann headers

Mild street cam I have no clue how big it is or the make lets just say it`s about the size of a 305 TPI cam

Flow master muffler

And I`m going to make a 3" cowl hood too

What do you think the output might be, my guess around 250hp

I would say 280-325 on a stock bore 305. I would definetely suggest buying a new cam, especially if you dont even rally know what that one is. And the 305 TPI cam is wimpy, you can go a little stronger than that.

The Factory Hp number is 155hp

I was thinking of changing the cam but I need to pass one more E-test so I don`t want to go to anything wild the intake and carb are easy to change to stock again but cams are not

And for those who are thinking put a 350 in I`m building a 383 I just want to make more power with the 305 till I get the 383.

Oh yeah I also have a 14X3" K&N filter

Unhappy

those mods will probably net you 185 to 195 rear wheel. Which translates to 225-235 at the flywheel. BUILD YOUR 350!!!!

Even comparable to it, isnt really enough. TPI cams werent all that. You could go with something a little tougher. I agree you dont want one as big as mine for a 305, I wish I knew then what I do now. I would have been more sensable with it.

I might be looking at a crane Energizer 260 H10 cam

Specs:
Dur. 260
Dur. 204@.050
Lift in/ex .427
lob sep. 110*

RPM range 1200-4200. Which is allright since my red line is 5000

It says it`s 50 state legal so you think I could pass an E-test with it right?

It wont mess up my vacuum right?

And would it give me alot more power with this cam with my setup? I would like to be in LT1 territory

I don`t what to spend $300 for 5 more hp. If it give 15-20 or more I`ll get it if not then I`ll stick with what I have

Even though you have done your heads, chances are that the exhaust side can use even more help. Thus I would recommend the Crane PowerMax 260 or 266. Or the Comp Extreme Energy 256. All of these cams offer a higher lift and longer duration exhaust lobe and will really help the exhaust gases get the heck out of Dodge

That equals more hp and torque.
