How to wire battery in rear well.....
How hard is it to put the battery in the drivers side rear well? I need to move it for my custom ram air setup. What stuff do i need to do it? I want to know every detail before i even attempt to tackle it. Thanks Derek
Your going to have to run a cable to the back of the car and get a dry cell battery. Your also going to need a way to mount it. I got a 20 dollor boat battery box from walmat and put screws threw the bottem to keep it from moving. Then put fet in the bottem of the box so the screw heads dont tear into the battery.
If you plain on going to the strip your going to have to setup a kill swich to cut the car off.
wire 20 bucks for good stuff
120 for drycell battery
25 bucks for box screws and felt
20 bucks for a kill swich
and you will need some more wire

Unless it's put in a sealed box and vented to outside the car, even a dry cell or gel cell battery such as an Optima will not pass a tech inspection if you plan on taking it to the track.
Also to pass a tech inspection there are more rules that need to be done. It must have a master cutoff at the rear and must kill the car when turned off.
Is this battery relocation project just for that cold air package or do you wish to take the car to the drag strip at any time? That will make a difference in how and where it can be mounted.
