How to remove Heater diverter box?

Hi,
I have an 84 Camaro that I'm trying to remove the heater diverter box (the part behind the dash).

I'm having the hardest time getting this off. Are there screws holding it on from the engine bay side? Does the heater box need to be removed? I sure hope not.

Thanks
Chris.

There is one bolt that has to be removed from the outside of the firewall. I think it is double nutted. It is on the driver side of the A/C box about mid-way. At least it is on a '92
