how to put back door spring
I just changed the lower door pin in my 92 bird and now I can't get the spring back in. Anyone know of a special tool or something. I already tried squeezing it in the vice and wiring it but it still wouldn't fit.
That's the only way to get it back in. Squeeze it in a vice then use some "mechanics wire" or "lock wire" and wrap many turns through the spring. You'll have to get it on both side of the spring somehow to keep it compressed. The last time I did one I had 5 or 6 wraps on each side of the spring just to keep it compressed. Once you put it back into the door just cut the wire.

Isn't there a tool for that called a spring compressor? I'm not trying to be an ***, just saying that I think I've heard of that.
