Im installing the LT1/T-56 in my car and am wondering how much to expect out of my TPI. I have had an offer for $650 for the engine(135K+ miles) and the tranny(33K). Is that a good deal or should I be able to get more than that for it?

 

Take it and run. Thirdgen parts are getting hard to sell considering the drop in price of aftermarket intakes and the popluarity of LT/LS swaps. Last LB9 longblock I sold for $100, TPI setup with ECM and harness I got $150 for and the trans went for $250. That's 500 for all and it took me about 6 months to find buyers.

 

I would say that is very reasonable, in my area I have seen the LB9/700R4 combos go for anywhere from 250.00-750.00.

 

I sold just a TPI setup with computer and wires off of a 89 305 and got $250 on ebay. I went to get a 350 Tpi (L98) at a junk yard here in South Carolina and they where wanting $1200 But $650 for a LB9 is pretty good.

 

Definitely sell it if you can. At the same time, it might be a good idea to hold onto it "just in case" something goes wrong with your new set up and you need a quick fix.
