Look up the tech data for the two. And are you sure you have a TBI, the data I looked at quoted a 2 barrel carb.

Better check your facts, 305 were carb until 1988 then TBI. And I am not talking about TPI 305's here.

I stand corrected, engine in queation does have a 4 barrel carb. But check your Vin nunber (8th letter) for engine type. Then you can compare output between he two cars.

Compared to a Z28 with what engine? The Crossfire? TBI? L69? TPI?

Crossfire was better, but not by much. L69 was faster, about as fast as a 85 305TPI car. 305 TPI manual, no way in hell it'll keep up.

And a 350TPI? Well, thats a whole different ball game for him.

83 berlinetta was a available at best with the lg4 v8 , 145 hp 245lbs compared to the z28 L69 at 190hp 245lbs and the crossfire engine which had like 170hp and similar torque but at lower RPM. I have an 84 z28 with the L69 , not a powerhouse by any means but still fun with a ratchet shifter .

The L69's that really shine are the ones that come with a 5spd as they got a 3.73 axel ratio I beleive. Or so I've read.
