how long will a 10 bolt hold up?

I am building a 406 right now that I will be expecting numbers in 500s. behind the motor will be a T-5 and 373 posi in the 10 bolt rear....I was just wondering from personal expereience and from what you have heard. How long you think my 10bolt will last? I am really worried, but dont have 2 grand to drop on a rearend, I can barly afford finishing my motor

are their ways to beef up the 10 bolt?

www.lpwracing.com

Look at their axle tube brace kits and rear end stud kits with girdles.. get a solid pinion spacer, weld the axle tubes all the way..But running a stick.. you could drop a 2k launch and blow it out if your tires were really sticky.. You won't want to run with slicks and a 10 bolt and a manual.. That would be just asking for trouble...

You T-5 will break before the rear. You will not want to run slicks or powershift because it will all go boom, the first time you try 1/2 throttle or more.

One holeshot on slicks and u can kiss your 10 bolt and t-5 goodbye. Tires that wont hook will be the only thing saving your drivetrain. Start saving....good luck.
