how to find cam specs...

when i bought my car, the guy before me had tinkered with it. i have a cam in my car and other bolt-ons but can only pull out 9.4-9.5's. i'm looking into getting a chip programmed for the car to see if that's the problem. however, i don't know the specs of the cam. is there a way to find out? i'm looking at doing this thru PCM For Less.

As far as I know, you can't. Unless you pull it and get some really high tech expensive measuring tools. What's your trap speed?

What should it matter? If they take readings, they can tell what the car is doing. Fasterproms used my spec sheet to get close and sent me a chip. It took 2 more burnings to get it nuts on. How is PCM for less doing it? I don't know of any other way to do it to get a truely custom chip. Lingenfelter once took my car for a day to get it dialed in just perfect. If they really need that spec sheet from the cam, they may not be doing a truely custom chip. What do they want for their work? Fasterproms is at $350 and the next time you need to go thru the process again, it is $150. Once it is dialed in just perfect, it should not need to be reburnt unless you do something radical.
