Ya, but for your car you need to have an adaptor that looks like this,

The adaptor sells for $61 shipped with 2 blank proms, so for $111
I can do your car as well. I'll do lifetime burns of the chips, all you cover is shipping both ways for the proms which is about $1.25 each way.

No, if you buy the hypertech, it is already in a memcal like your stock one. they just erase a stock memcal and re-program it.
JET chips use an adaptor, which is what I posted a picture of.

I don't have a pin adaptor to reprogram a chip that is still in the memcal, and using the adaptors is much easier especially when using flash chips which can be erased in seconds in the programmer. Chips in the memcal are Eproms which require the use of a UV light prom eraser.

Check engine and especially tranny mounts. Ask me how I know.

There is a tech article on www.thirdgen.org for a toggle switch disabling the VSS sensor. Or just take the plug out.

Yes but that disables cruise control. However, is that all? Will it screw up the ECM calculations?

Ya, I hate not having cruise control when driving 110+

That's exactly what I was thinking.

aklim, it doesn't screw anything up, how fast you're going doesn't deal much with the ECM calculations. Fuel tables and stuff are dependent on RPM right? In that case, speed wouldn't matter.

only thing I can think of is the TC not locking up since there is no speed reading.

I have set CC at about 120 once.

Not sure what would happen if the TC did not lock up but I would imagine your RPM would be higher?

my iroc-z came with a speed limiter at 120 mph.

i noticed when the vss is disconnected and the speedo stops working, the engine revs a couple hundred rpms' higher

It's not a computer controlled transmission though right?

Even the 4L60E in my truck locks the TC when my VSS fails (constantly for some reason....)

What code will be displayed when the VSS in the camaros is disconnected (if any)? I wonder if this is the check engine light I get sometimes when I am driving, but it is never stored.

I don't think the tranny is controlled by the ECM in that the shifting is controlled by hydraulic pressure but I believe the lockup definately is.
