how do things just go out of adjustment, like timing or carburator

does it happen, like for example im having a starting problem currently and my engine cranks really funny and slowely, could this be a timing issue?, i diddnt touch anything timing related

It is possible for the dist. to wander if you did not tighten the clamp down tight enough.

IF its tight and timing is right... just do a tune up. Fuel filter, plugs, wires, cap and rotor, maybe even a decarb.

iming can go out if the bolt comes loose. Carburator can go out if the fuel leaves too much varnish in the jets, etc.

It shouldn't turn slowly all of a sudden. Is your battery draining?

Well they might "wander" but I dought the "wonder"!!

i just bought a brand new battery, still does it, could starter be going? im going to try and disconect the primarys from the distributor tomarow so that i know that i wont get any spark at all
and then try to crank and see if it still goes slow

Yes, a starter with bearings or brushes on the way out will drag on you. It could also be a corroded connection at the starter, assuming the battery connects are good.

i think the connection on the battery might be bad, not corroded just not tight, i think that the little bolt is stripped becasue it wont tighten, i hope thats it becasue its 5 verses about 60 $$

any other possibilities that i can check out?
