How can I make my Camaro faster?

Last year I bought a 88 Iroc and I would really like to make it faster. Unfortunately I am not that rich, so I was looking for ideas that werent that expensive. But I'll take all advice. Thanks

Well I can always save my money so it would just have to be a matter of time if something were to be expensive. All winter I saved up so I can get it painted, get a daytona style hood, buy a flowmaster, tires and theres a lot more. So I guess I will lokk at some car mags and hopefully they will help.

I heard giving your car to me takes about 3 seconts off your 1/4.
I think most people would start with intake and exhaust though.

Well I agree it would help if we had some rough idea of what you wanted to spend. Also what kinda IROC is it? L98 305? 5- Speed, Auto?

If you an auto car, a stall convertor should always be one of your first buys. And the cam that came in the autos are trash so thats a good idea.

hunney, dont fret, some cool things you can do for cheap , thier real fun to, subframe connectors there great, cut some 10,s of your 60ft. also the flowmaster exhaust is great to thats a real fun mod plus it sounds good, and some ram air boxes thier fun to great pull on the highway, for all those minus the exhaust youll pay about 300 which will get you everything plus 2 kand n filters, and still have some cash left over for lunch. let us know what you decide. look on ebay for the filters and boxes

if its a tpi car then theres a lot of stuff you can do to gain horse power and not cost you a whole lot. check out www.thirdgen.org they have a tech section that tells you how to do a lot of free and cheap mods yourself to gain power.

free mods would be to port and polish the plenum, runners and heads if your up to it. can do it yourself with a dremel tool. or you can buy new intake and runners and such, but most cost a few bucks. single out mufflers also gain some lost power through the exaust. a cheap mod would be some gears, no HP gain but it'll make you go faster
