The stealth ram will run with the stock computer but it will ran like crap.It wont work with the vortec heads. You should really spend the $$$ and get some PROM burning equipment its not hard and will be 100% better than any chip(hypertech,jet,etc...) you buy.

My friend just installed the Holley Stealth Ram on his 88 IROC. He has Stock Edelbrock heads (not sure exactly which ones), an SLP cam with right around .500 lift (he also has 1.6 rockers which would give it a little more lift than that), Edelbrock headers, a 700R4 with a 2800 stall, and a 9-bolt with 3.73's (yes, 3.73's they are aftermarket gears.) The bottom end was gone through about 4 years ago, basically a stock rebuild. Before the Stealth Ram he ran low 13's (on drag radials) and every once and a while he would get a high 12. He had a Edelbrock lower intake with SLP runners. His best after the Stealth Ram is a 12.0. His MPH went from about 106 to 112. I do believe he installed the 1.6 rockers after installing the Stealth Ram, so that would probably account for some of the gain and he also put on a fiberglass cowl induction hood, so the reduced weight also helped as well, but that is a great gain for just an intake swap. He did nothing to the computer and is running the same chip as before. It isn't a stock chip, I think he got it from Street and Performance. It definately isn't customed burned for his car though.
